Head Lice ခေါင်းသန်းထခြင်း

Head lice is very common parasitic infestation in Myanmar. There are three different types: Pediculus humanus capitis (head louse), Pthirus pubis (pubic louse/crabs), and Pediculus humanus humanus (body louse). The 1% permethrin lotion or a mousse containing pyrethrins and piperonyl butoxide can be used commonly in pediculosis.

Symptoms

• Intense itchiness on the scalp, neck and ears (due to allergic reaction to louse bites)
• Tickling feeling
• Nits (Lice eggs) present on hair shafts
• Soreness from scratching
• Difficult sleeping
