Delusional parasitosis ကပ်ပါးကောင် စိတ်ဝေဒနာ

Delusional parasitosis is a rare psychological disorder that someone having a strong and unwavering belief of parasites being infected them (i.e, that is not truely parasitosis). To stabilize their psychological problems, the clinicians should start their treatment with antipsychotic medications. Usually, oral Pimozide 1mg twice daily is used initially, and the dosage should increase weekly intervals as required. The maximum dosage may be up to 20mg/day.

Symptoms

• Feelings of itchiness or burning or numbness
• Crawling or prickling feeling under the skin
• Scratching or picking at the skin
• Ulcers caused by scratching
